CLIENT: International Council of Aids Service Organisations (ICASO)
PROJECT: AIDS2018 conference, Annual Report 2020 & U=U for Women
Freelance: 2018 – 2023

In 2018 I began to work with the International Council of Aids Service Organisations (ICAS0), a not for profit based in Toronto. ICASO works with the HIV positive communities and does work in many parts of the world. Some of the reports I have worked on are around areas such as U=U for Women, Venezuela: the triple threat of HIV, Malaria and Tuberculosis, and a report on HIV in Malawi. ICASO works with often overlooked communities within the HIV community.

The International AIDS Conferences are the largest conferences on any global health issue in the world and in 2018 it saw over 20,000 attendees from over 160 countries gather in Amsterdam. With ICASO as one of the oldest international agencies formed in the early years of the AIDS pandemic over 35 years ago, the presence of ICASO has been critical.

The ICASO leadership recognised the exceptional work that Daniel had achieved on creating a new and unified visual identity for the ICASO brand. His design acumen combined with with creative talent meant that he was an obvious choice to bring on as the tenured graphic designer to the agency to create an ICASO identity across the conference. From academic posters to promotional banners and marquee items through to several policy papers, critical global situation reports, and advocacy materials (in multiple languages) linked to political, social justice and human rights issues; Daniel oversaw the creation of no less than two dozen unique design elements under the new ICASO branding.
